Terms of Service

WAN.business is a business directory covering Chinese-speaking businesses in the Boston and Massachusetts area. We are not the employer, agent, partner or guarantor of any business listed here.

Please read this one carefully: we do not verify any business licence, insurance, qualification or practice record. Listing information is supplied by the business or compiled from public sources.

Our review of a listing checks only that the information is complete and suitable to publish. It is not an endorsement of that business, its qualifications, its work, or the outcome of any dealing with it.

Whether to deal with a business, and on what terms, is a decision you make and carry yourself.

Registration requires an email address you can receive mail at and a mobile number that can receive text messages — the number must be confirmed by SMS code during signup. A merchant account must also confirm its email before it can sign in, because customer enquiries are delivered there; ordinary users can sign in right away and are reminded in their account page. By registering you confirm you are at least 13 years old. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe it has been compromised.

A business is responsible for everything it submits and warrants it has the right to use it. Do not upload images or text you do not have the right to use.

When a business changes its name, phone or address, we review the listing again. The page stays public while that happens.

We may remove content we consider false, unlawful, infringing or misleading, without prior notice.

The following may not be posted:

• False or exaggerated advertising, including prices, credentials or promises that cannot be honoured
• Commercial advertising unrelated to the Chinese community in Boston and Massachusetts
• The same material posted repeatedly
• Multi-level marketing, recruitment schemes and “make money online” offers
• Affiliate links or referral codes of any kind
• Off-site promotion for traffic, or recruitment for other platforms and apps
• Advertorials disguised as reviews, questions or personal experience
• Content infringing anyone’s copyright, trademark or privacy
• Abusive, obscene, hateful, threatening or harassing content
• Content violating US federal or Massachusetts law

Offending content is removed. For serious or repeated breaches we may suspend or permanently close the account, and we retain the associated registration details and access logs (including IP address) to handle disputes and to co-operate with lawful requests.

Content posted by users and businesses is the responsibility of whoever posted it and does not represent the views of WAN.business. We cannot review every item; we reserve the right to remove content but accept no obligation to pre-screen it, and we are not responsible for its accuracy, legality or consequences.

Text and images you upload must be material you have the right to use. If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent following the process on the Copyright & DMCA Notices page.

Repeat-infringer policy

We record every takedown made on a valid copyright notice against the account responsible. On the third valid copyright notice, we terminate that account — including removing its listing and closing its sign-in. The first and second result in a written warning.

• Where the infringement is plainly wilful — for example copying another company's website wholesale — we may terminate immediately rather than wait for a third notice.
• If a takedown turns out to have been a misidentification, and the poster files a valid counter-notification under §512(g) that the complainant does not take to court within the statutory period, that record is withdrawn and does not count toward the total.
• A terminated account may not re-register to post the same content.

Reviews must reflect genuine experience. Fabricated reviews, paid or exchanged reviews, reviews a business writes about itself or a competitor, multiple accounts used to answer your own questions, and reviews written to attack a competitor are not allowed and may be removed; repeat offenders may be suspended.
A review is the personal opinion of the person who wrote it and is not an assessment or endorsement by WAN.business.

Pro is a subscription: $30 per month or $288 per year (about $24/month). The price shown at checkout applies.

Payment is processed by Stripe. Our servers never receive or store your card number.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the period already paid for, and you are not charged again.

Periods already paid are not refunded, except where law requires otherwise. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will look into it.

We may change features, plan contents or pricing. Existing subscribers are notified before a price change takes effect and may cancel beforehand.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for dealings between you and a business, for information a business supplies, or for indirect losses arising from use of this site.

9.1 At a merchant's request, WAN.business may fill in that merchant's listing for a fee. It is a one-time service, does not include ongoing maintenance, and its price and scope are whatever the two sides confirm by email.

9.2 Everything entered comes from material the merchant supplies. WAN.business does not write, infer or fill in anything the merchant has not provided — including but not limited to price promises, warranty terms, turnaround times, and license or insurance status.

9.3 The merchant is responsible for the accuracy, legality and ownership of the material it supplies, including that submitted photographs are of its own projects and infringe no third-party rights. Liability arising from inaccurate or infringing material rests with the merchant.

9.4 WAN.business does not ask for or store a merchant's account password. The work is done from the platform's admin side.

9.5 A merchant may ask us in writing (email included) to stop at any time, or sign in and change anything itself.

9.6 This service changes nothing else in these terms, including the statement that WAN.business does not verify merchant licenses or credentials and offers no guarantee about any merchant or transaction.

10.1 We send a one-time SMS verification code only to users who request it, to verify ownership of their mobile number.
